The Gubbi Gubbi people are the Traditional Owners of the lands that include beaches, lakes, rivers, creeks, mountains and rainforests, located in South East Queensland, including the Sunshine Coast.

 

On this full day culinary and cultural experience, we delve deep into the history and customs of our first nations people and discover bush tucker, explore waterways and listen to yarns from elders.

Your first stop is My Dilly Bag where you'll be guided through an introduction to bush tucker.  

Learn about bushfood practices that have sustained Australia's First Nations peoples for centuries.

Engage all your senses of sight, sound, taste, smell and touch, as well as spiritual connection.

 

Try foraged and harvested seasonal produce including Australian botanical leaves, grains, seeds, nuts, and fruits. These may include Myrtles (Anise, Curry, Cinnamon, and Lemon), Strawberry Gum, Old Man Salt Bush, Pepper Berry, Wattleseed, Native Thyme, Bunya Nuts, Warrigal Greens, Lilly Pilly, Wild Mints, and more.

 

Then take time to wander around the store and take home some great bush tucker ingredients and products such as Aunty Dale's famous Lemon Myrtle shortbread, Wild Brews Tea, Bush tomato dip, Dukkah and native botanical infused Macadamia nut oil with crusty bread.

Next we take a short drive to the waterways of Mooloolaba where you'll board the heritage listed and fully restored 'Spray of the Coral Coast'.  This 114 year old timer sailing vessel is the pride and joy of the team at Saltwater Eco Tours. Immerse yourself in an unforgettable cultural experience through storytelling and entertainment, as you enjoy a range of bush-tucker inspired canapes served with a refreshing beer, sparkling champagne or our signature Lemon Myrtle cocktail.​
